Lead Java Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an accomplished Java Developer to become part of our Electronic Trading Technology team, specializing in FX trading systems. The candidate should demonstrate strong experience in creating high-performance, low-latency trading applications and possess an in-depth understanding of FX market mechanics along with electronic trading platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and expand electronic trading systems ensuring better performance, scalability, and enhanced features.
• Collaborate with global tech teams and business stakeholders to produce top-quality solutions under tight deadlines.
• Participate fully in the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, implementation, deployment, and maintenance.
• Manage project deliveries autonomously with adherence to schedules.
• Provide support for live production applications, including troubleshooting and optimizing performance of critical trading systems.
• Engage with business owners to grasp needs and translate them effectively into technical implementations.
• Design and develop distributed, low-latency FX trading applications tailored for optimal performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in Java programming with comprehensive knowledge of the Spring Framework.
• Proven record in architecting and developing distributed electronic trading platforms, particularly in FX markets.
• Thorough understanding of FX electronic trading concepts such as market microstructure, order flows, lifecycle management, matching rules, and ECN relationships.
• Strong skills in multithreading, concurrency control, and performance tuning.
• Well-versed in data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Experience using messaging middleware technologies like JMS or Kafka.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or XP and the application of continuous integration practices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Perl, or Ruby.
• Experience with front-office trading systems is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

• Domain expertise in FX and FX Options.
• Background working in electronic trading environments within investment banks or financial firms.
• Exposure to low-latency and high-frequency trading systems.
