As a Lead Heavy Duty Steward, you will play a key role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across Food & Beverage back of house areas overnight, with possible support on swing and day shifts. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all F&B back of house outlets, including kitchens, cooking equipment such as stoves, grills, fryers, and casino bars, following OSHA and ServSafe standards.
- Supervise and develop utility staff to consistently exceed sanitation and cleanliness requirements.
- Create and manage schedules for cleaning both fixed and movable equipment.
- Dispose of garbage correctly, ensuring trash receptacles are cleaned and lined properly after use.
- Operate mechanical cleaning equipment like scrubbers and dishwashers safely and efficiently.
- Maintain sanitary conditions on all kitchen surfaces, including mats, walls, ceilings, and stainless steel areas.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and workstations using appropriate manual methods or hand-trucks.
- Ensure serving stations are stocked with necessary utensils and maintain safe working conditions throughout kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist other departments with their duties when time permits.
- Present a professional appearance and maintain good personal hygiene; wear appropriate business attire or clean, pressed uniform as required.
- Understand and safely handle chemicals including their usage, storage, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
- Provide excellent guest interactions when in any guest-facing position, including greetings and farewells.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school, or a related combination of education and six months to one year of experience or training.
- Ability to comprehend safety documents, manuals, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Competency in basic arithmetic calculations including discounts, proportions, percentages and measurements.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Physical capability to frequently walk and communicate, occasionally stand, use hands, reach, kneel, crouch, and lift/move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to accommodate various vision requirements including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
- Willingness to work in wet/humid conditions and occasional exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, heat, and moderate noise.
Additional Information
The starting base salary for this role is $14.50 per hour. The total rewards package includes wellness programs, day-one medical coverage, 401(k) matching, and annual performance bonuses, with paid time off increasing with tenure.
