Job Overview
The Dishwasher role involves carrying out essential cleaning and storage duties in the kitchen, including washing dishes and pots, cleaning equipment, and managing the storage and rotation of food and supplies. Compliance with sanitary standards as well as federal, state, and local regulations for food handling and hygiene is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Keep workspaces clean and secure by removing hazards and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Dietary Manager.
- Perform kitchen cleaning and storage tasks diligently.
- Immediately inform supervisors of any accidents or injuries, especially sharps-related incidents, ensuring timely reporting during the shift or to the charge nurse if a supervisor is unavailable.
- Adhere strictly to the facility's safety guidelines and infection control protocols while completing responsibilities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all resident-related information.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, orientations, and on-the-job education as required.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- A minimum education of 10th grade completion.
- At least 18 years old.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
