Role Overview
As the Engineering Lead for Accessories, you will be responsible for overseeing Tait's accessories product range, which includes audio accessories, chargers, docks, carrying solutions, and future innovations. Your role is vital in delivering robust products that perform reliably under challenging real-world conditions, ensuring customers get the most from their Tait solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership and guide the performance of Tait's accessories portfolio.
- Convert product architecture and technical requirements into feasible engineering plans and actual products.
- Lead development, validation, and delivery processes for accessory products.
- Serve as the authoritative figure for accessory design and engineering decisions.
- Manage product lifecycles, ensure compliance, and promote continuous improvements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate engineering risks while fostering capability development.
About You
You are a highly experienced and versatile senior engineer with a broad understanding across hardware, electrical, mechanical, audio, compliance, and delivery domains. You confidently convert technical directions into practical engineering outcomes and guide teams through complex trade-offs involved in bringing accessory products to market.
You possess solid expertise in hardware product development and lifecycle management, including design, validation, manufacturing, and ongoing support. You are familiar with products requiring rigorous audio, mechanical, environmental, and regulatory standards. Your broad engineering background complements your ability to collaborate with software and embedded systems specialists within multidisciplinary teams.
Your key strengths include:
- Proven experience guiding hardware products throughout their entire lifecycle.
- Expertise with demanding audio, mechanical, environmental, or regulatory product requirements.
- Proficiency in translating technical specs into practical engineering solutions and managing delivery across teams and external partners.
- Experience handling market support challenges such as component obsolescence, supply chain issues, and compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and technical judgment enabling you to influence stakeholders, mentor engineers, and make sound trade-offs.
