Role Overview

Take the next step in your auditing career by joining RSSB as a Lead Auditor. This role is home-based with required travel primarily around the Kent, Harrogate, or Newcastle regions and nearby areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits assessing an organization’s ability, competency, and capacity in delivering products and services.
  • Compile reports and undertake risk management activities to uphold safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform audits on suppliers onboarding through the Rail Industry Supplier Qualification System (RISQS).
  • Verify adherence to procedural requirements by examining documentation, reports, and operational practices.
  • Manage audits remotely and onsite, overseeing all stages from planning through to closure following standardized protocols.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit findings and suggest improvements to operational processes and systems in final reports.
  • Engage with stakeholders at multiple levels to comprehend business requirements and communicate audit outcomes effectively.
  • Support team objectives and occasionally act as a deputy to the Senior Lead Auditor.

Candidate Profile

  • Must be based in or near Kent, Harrogate, or Newcastle due to travel obligations across the UK.
  • IRCA accredited Lead Auditor qualification is essential.
  • Proven auditing experience against specified standards.
  • Possession of NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Technical Diploma or equivalent health and safety certifications.
  • Rail industry experience is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn about rail industry standards is valued.
  • Strong IT proficiency, including capabilities with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to form productive professional relationships.
  • Effective communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptable mindset able to handle change, new opportunities, and uncertainty positively.
  • Responsible, accountable approach to task completion and problem-solving.
  • Customer-focused attitude aiming to achieve shared success through satisfaction and service quality.
