Role Overview

In this position, the Lead Application Engineer will work closely with robotics experts and application engineers to deploy robotic software for diverse industrial uses. Responsibilities include configuring robotic systems tailored to client specifications, integrating hardware and software components, composing thorough technical documentation, and troubleshooting issues to maintain system reliability. Cross-functional collaboration for requirement gathering and project execution will be essential. The role demands continuous learning of proprietary technologies and staying updated on the latest robotics advancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver robotic software solutions in partnership with application engineers and robotics specialists for industrial clients.
  • Configure robotic setups to optimize performance according to client requirements.
  • Integrate robotic hardware, sensor devices, and software modules to build comprehensive automation solutions.
  • Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, such as manuals and system specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems promptly to ensure uninterrupted robot operation.
  • Collaborate with teams across functions to collect requirements, advise technically, and drive project success.
  • Expand expertise on the company’s proprietary robotic platforms and technologies.
  • Remain informed about innovations in industrial robotics to inject new ideas into projects.
  • Adapt swiftly to emerging tools, technologies, and procedural changes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' direct experience working with industrial robotic arms such as ABB, UR, Fanuc, Kawasaki, or Yaskawa.
  • Proven leadership capability managing technical teams.
  • Hands-on involvement in robotic programming, engineering, or automation-related projects.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills.
  • Interest and enthusiasm for automation and robotics technologies.
  • Effective communication skills for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • High attention to detail and dedication to quality in deliverables.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for elementary mechanical design work.
  • Genuine passion for innovation, technology, and robotics.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge in robotic end-effector design.
  • Experience working with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including C#, C++, and Python.
  • Experience utilizing AI technologies like Claude, ChatGPT, or comparable models is advantageous.
