Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with customers to identify their design challenges and offer technical solutions, advice on methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Serve as the main technical contact for customers on schematic capture and PCB front-end design workflows.
- Work alongside R&D, Product Engineering, and Marketing teams to enhance products and broaden the adoption of Cadence’s solutions.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of innovative customer design needs and communicate these insights to internal teams.
- Lead technical demonstrations, training events, and workshops targeted at customers and partners.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues related to schematic designs, netlisting errors, library mismatches, and design processes.
- Develop impactful knowledge base articles, tool adoption kits, and other documentation to empower customer self-support.
- Build strong technical credibility and trust with customers, becoming their primary expert for technical inquiries and assistance.
- Take on technical leadership roles within small teams as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline (BE/BTech with 7+ years experience or ME/MS/MTech with 5+ years experience).
- Practical, hands-on experience in PCB design within the EDA industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of PCB design workflows using Cadence Allegro Design Entry HDL or Orcad Capture.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in hardware design engineering, CAD, or technical/application support roles in similar environments.
- Knowledge of Product Life Management Cycle systems.
- Capability to interpret customer requirements into EDA workflows, establish best practices, and create automation solutions.
- Strong skills in analyzing varied design environments and challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to liaise efficiently with external customers and internal R&D teams.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in system-level design and handling large-scale schematic environments.
- Experience with high-speed and sophisticated PCB design scenarios.
- Well-versed in the entire PCB design cycle and the associated CAD tools.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as TCL, SKILL, or Python or their equivalents.
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing technical positions.
