We are in search of a Senior or Lead Android Engineer who embodies a Staff-level approach, possessing extensive expertise in developing resilient and scalable Android applications. This technically demanding position emphasizes mobile system design, performance optimization, and smooth interaction with distributed backend platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient Android applications utilizing Kotlin.
• Create scalable and maintainable architecture focusing on application performance.
• Develop user-friendly, responsive interfaces consistent with contemporary Android design standards.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend services and distributed systems functionalities.
• Ensure robust data synchronization, support for offline usage, and network reliability.
• Enhance applications concerning performance metrics, memory consumption, and battery optimization.
• Adhere to high-quality code standards through thorough testing and clear documentation.
• Engage actively in Agile and Scrum workflows contributing to planning and product delivery.
• Manage the complete mobile lifecycle from development stages to deployment on the Google Play Store.
• Collaborate closely with backend and infrastructure teams for seamless system integration.
• Implement best practices around mobile security including secure data handling.
• Perform code reviews, mentor colleagues, and foster engineering excellence.
• Advocate for best Android architectural patterns, continuous integration/delivery, and release management processes.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 to 6 years’ experience as a Senior or Lead Android Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK usage.
• Experience with contemporary Android architectural patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Comprehensive understanding of Android lifecycle management and performance optimization techniques.
• Proficient in integrating RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming constructs like Coroutines and Flow.
• Knowledge of data persistence frameworks such as Room and SQLite, including caching strategies.
• Skilled with Android testing frameworks and debugging tools.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to shape and influence technical decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines and managing mobile app release processes.
• Knowledge of mobile security domains including secure storage, encryption, and authentication methods.
• Understanding of distributed systems and cloud platform architectures.
• Experience in deep-tech environments with focus on infrastructure and performance-critical applications.
• Exposure to observability tools and mobile analytics platforms.
