Lead Algorithm Engineer - Search & Recommendation

Role Overview

Join the Search and Recommendations Platform team at GoTo Financial as a Lead Algorithm Engineer in Singapore. Collaborate with skilled professionals across China and Singapore to enhance search, recommendation, and monetisation models that support GoFood and GoPay systems servicing Indonesia. In your initial six months, you will be instrumental in developing foundational platform features and working closely with business data science teams to generate significant business value and enhance user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sophisticated algorithms for search, recommendations, and ad systems to enhance product discovery and user conversion across GoTo's offerings.
• Construct advanced models of user behavior and query/item understanding utilizing large language and vision models to optimize matching accuracy.
• Partner effectively with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to identify challenges, conduct experiments, and deploy scalable analytical solutions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, Computer Vision, or related fields.
• Proficient programming skills in Python, C++, or Java.
• Practical experience working with search, recommendation, or advertising systems with proven improvements in ranking, retrieval, or targeting.
• Knowledge and experience integrating large language models (LLMs) and large language and vision models (LLVMs) into search or recommendation workflows are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to innovate on algorithmic approaches and deliver impactful, data-driven solutions.
• Strong ability to interpret user behavior data and traffic trends to guide product decisions.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Self-driven, curious, and eager to build impactful, scalable systems rapidly.
