Laundry Team Leader

Overview

Join Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) as a Laundry Team Leader where you will oversee the packing of flight linen in compliance with Qatar Airways standards, ensuring items are prepared and dispatched efficiently. Lead and coordinate a team responsible for linen preparation for Qatar Airways, other airlines, Amiri flights, and crew training sessions. Your role involves managing resources proficiently for optimal productivity, generating essential operational documents such as material and linen requests, shift reports, obsolete records, and accident/incident reports. Implement operational improvements as directed by your Line Manager.

Key Duties

• Assign tasks to junior team members, dividing them into sub-teams for specific linen packing operations and providing clear work plans and guidance.
• Create shift-based work plans aligned with the Daily Working Schedule.
• Conduct team briefings regarding procedural updates and requirements to ensure alignment.
• Facilitate timely communication both to the team and supervisory line on critical information.
• Ensure strict recycling of linen products to minimize wastage.
• Evaluate linen stock levels and advise on quantities to request from storage.
• Inspect incoming inventory from other airlines and manage stock withdrawals from backup storage.
• Participate in aircraft and service changes ensuring timely completion and handover to Service delivery teams.
• Maintain thorough records, including operational handover sheets and data essential to uphold 100% compliance with airline standards.
• Guarantee the highest quality standards in linen packaging and timely delivery to flights.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in work areas to prevent foreign object contamination of linen items.

Candidate Profile

• Educational qualifications ranging from High School diploma, vocational training, diploma, or Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in laundry operations or airline textile services.
• Specialized knowledge of various linen and textile types, including current airline packing techniques.
• Experience with linens and related products specific to the airline industry.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with laundry department operations and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Galley Loading Plans (GLP) and linen packing processes.
• Competent in wireless radio communication and ramp safety standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
