Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and efficient processing of all guest and hotel laundry according to item-specific care requirements and hotel SOPs, maintaining cleanliness and good condition.
• Handle chemicals safely, adhering to usage guidelines to prevent risks for self and colleagues.
• Operate laundry machines correctly, respecting instructions including weight limits and operational protocols.
• Sort linen by type and color before washing to maintain fabric integrity.
• Collect laundry promptly from guest rooms as per schedule.
• Classify guest laundry for dry cleaning, pressing, or washing and forward items accordingly.
• Inspect processed laundry prior to delivery, ensuring all items meet quality standards.
• Deliver laundry to guests’ rooms, respecting privacy requests such as ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs.
• Provide billing information to the cashier department before shift end.
• Assist colleagues with assigned tasks and perform additional hotel duties as required, including special projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior experience working in laundry operations within hospitality or similar environments.
• Familiarity with laundry procedures including washing, drying, pressing, folding, and sorting of fabrics.
• Competence in safely operating commercial laundry equipment.
• Basic understanding of various fabrics, detergents, and stain removal techniques.
• Strong attention to detail in identifying stains, fabric damage, and missing items.
• Physical capability to stand for long periods and manage laundry loads effectively.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Adherence to health, safety, hygiene, and chemical handling protocols.
• Reliability, responsibility, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills coupled with a strong customer service orientation.
