Position Summary
The Laundry Assistant is responsible for carrying out daily laundry operations to meet patient needs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience in health care settings is a plus.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage daily laundry tasks including collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distribution of linens.
- Provide excellent customer service with a positive demeanor towards patients.
- Assist in patient evacuation procedures when required.
- Maintain dependable and consistent attendance.
- Use sound judgment, concentration, and reasoning in daily duties.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
- Physically capable to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during shifts.
- Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
Additional Requirements
- Exhibit independent decision-making when necessary.
- Have a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and policies in a post-acute care facility.
- Successfully implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain proficiency in competencies related to patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and external vendors.
- Uphold confidentiality of proprietary and patient information.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, including anti-harassment and compliance protocols.
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completing mandated compliance training.
