Job description
Position Overview
The Laundry Assistant is responsible for efficiently performing daily laundry operations to meet patient laundry requirements, adhering strictly to applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of high school education or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine laundry tasks such as collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing linens and garments.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards patients.
- Assist with patient evacuation procedures when necessary.
- Ensure punctuality and consistent attendance.
- Apply sound judgment and concentration while performing duties.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Physically able to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and intermittent movement throughout the work period.
- Understand and communicate fluently in English, both verbal and written.
Compliance and Conduct
- Make autonomous decisions as needed within the scope of responsibilities.
- Possess familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and facility policies governing post-acute care operations.
- Implement and interpret departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures accurately.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding sensitive or proprietary information.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
- Demonstrate integrity and uphold the Life Care Code of Conduct, completing all required compliance training.
