Job description
Position Overview
The Laundry Assistant is responsible for carrying out daily laundry operations to ensure that patient laundry requirements are fulfilled in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care Centers of America standards.
Required Education and Experience
- Preferred: High school diploma or an equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in healthcare settings is beneficial
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Make autonomous decisions when required by the situation
- Have knowledge of relevant practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to a post-acute care facility
- Apply and interpret departmental programs, objectives, policies, and procedures effectively
- Demonstrate proficiency across essential competencies including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional interactions with colleagues, vendors, and others
- Protect confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information
- Comply with company policies such as harassment and compliance protocols
- Uphold integrity and professionalism consistent with Life Care's Code of Conduct and fulfill required compliance and Code of Conduct training
Core Duties
- Conduct laundry tasks such as collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing items daily
- Provide excellent customer service and exhibit a positive demeanor toward patients
- Support patient evacuation efforts when necessary
- Maintain dependable and consistent attendance
- Use concentration, reasoning abilities, and sound judgment during work activities
- Communicate effectively and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
- Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently throughout the workday
- Possess proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English
