Job description
Position Overview
The Laundry Assistant is responsible for managing daily laundry operations to ensure that patients' laundry requirements are fulfilled in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred to have completed high school or an equivalent level of education.
- Previous experience in healthcare settings is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Exercise independent decision-making when situations call for it.
- Possess knowledge of applicable practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines relevant to post-acute care facilities.
- Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in key competency areas such as patient rights, safety, and sanitation protocols.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of all proprietary or sensitive information.
- Comply with company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
- Exemplify integrity and professionalism by adhering to the organization's Code of Conduct and completing all required training.
Essential Duties
- Handle daily laundry tasks including collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing linens.
- Provide excellent customer service, fostering a positive demeanor towards patients.
- Assist in patient evacuation procedures when necessary.
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance at work.
- Apply concentration, reasoning, and sound judgment during duties.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Physically able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently throughout working hours.
- Possess the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
