Job description
General Overview
This role involves executing a range of laundry and housekeeping tasks to ensure the delivery of quality laundry services and maintain a clean and odor-free nursing home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide an ample supply of clean linens to promote the comfort and care of residents.
- Keep all linens in good condition, removing any that are stained or torn from use.
- Gather laundry from residents daily or on an as-needed basis.
- Label clothing items for new residents when required.
- Sort, pre-treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens appropriately.
- Distribute freshly cleaned laundry items to resident rooms.
- Adhere closely to sanitary procedures related to laundry tasks.
- Manage the stock of laundry supplies effectively.
- Operate all laundry equipment and supplies safely.
- Report any issues with laundry machinery to the administrator timely.
Supervisory Role
This position does not entail any supervisory duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Prior experience of one year in a related role is preferred.
- Ability to comprehend instructions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
- Basic mathematics skills are necessary.
- Capability to analyze issues and seek aid when required.
- No certifications or licenses are mandatory.
Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The job involves frequent use of industrial laundry machines and requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, reading, and hearing.
Work Environment
