Role Summary
The Laboratory Technician position at Unicoate involves performing routine analyses and tests on automotive and industrial paint samples to confirm compliance with quality and safety standards. Key activities encompass sample preparation, operation and upkeep of laboratory instruments, systematic recording of test findings, and aiding in quality assurance processes.
Key Duties
- Prepare paint samples for testing according to prescribed procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment pertinent to paint and coatings testing.
- Document and report the outcomes of laboratory tests accurately.
- Collaborate with production and technical teams to resolve issues and enhance formulations.
- Adhere to strict laboratory safety protocols and maintain organized records.
- Contribute to improving laboratory testing methods and quality control processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong background in laboratory procedures within industrial or chemical settings.
- Proficiency in handling laboratory equipment specific to paint and coatings analysis.
- Experience with quality control standards, conducting standardized tests, and verifying product specifications.
- Analytical abilities to interpret data trends and assist technical teams in problem resolution.
- Preferred educational qualifications include a diploma or bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields.
- Two to five years of relevant experience in automotive and industrial paint formulations and testing methods.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry, report preparation, and laboratory information system use.
