Role Overview

The Laboratory Analyst role based in Invercargill is a permanent, full-time position focused on laboratory operations for water and food sample testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently conduct routine analyses on incoming water and food samples.
  • Maintain accurate quality control documentation per established quality standards and procedures.
  • Perform internal technical audits and offer assistance to the Quality Assurance Manager as required.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Assist in preparing and validating Standards, Internal Reference Materials, and other quality controls.
  • Exemplify strong work ethics and professionalism to fellow staff.
  • Identify and report quality deviations, implementing appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support investigations into out-of-specification results and other testing issues such as retesting and equipment calibration failures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts targeting safer, higher-quality, timely, and efficient work processes.
  • Adhere to Eurofins' Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, and related policies consistently.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and computer proficiency are essential.
  • Experience in commercial laboratory environments, ideally at a KTP analyst level.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Tertiary education in Science or equivalent credential, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of two years’ laboratory experience; commercial laboratory exposure is advantageous.
  • Experience handling various laboratory instrumentation and sample preparation methods.
  • Technical expertise in the relevant scientific discipline.
  • Competent with common office software, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
