Knowledge Management Officer

Overview

The appointed individual will have a critical role in documenting outcomes, generating evidence, and enabling organizational learning, which contribute directly to optimizing the reach and effectiveness of life-saving nutrition interventions for women and children.

Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities

• Enhance knowledge management specifically for nutrition programs, focusing on emergency nutrition and a donor-funded project targeting nutrition for women and children.
• Ensure the nutrition team and partners receive timely updates on emerging evidence, guidelines, and program learnings.
• Support the creation of reports, briefs, presentations, meeting notes, case studies, human-interest stories, and other knowledge materials as needed.
• Document lessons learned, updates, and best practices from emergency nutrition and other nutrition interventions in Punjab.
• Facilitate effective information exchange with UNICEF units, government counterparts, nutrition working group partners, and relevant forums.
• Support emergency nutrition knowledge management by consolidating progress updates, situation reports, and key results, and maintain organized records of activities, partner updates, and field findings.
• Coordinate with program, monitoring, evaluation and reporting (PMER), and field teams to ensure availability of quality information for planning and reporting.
• Compile, analyze, and organize program data from multiple sources to back reporting and evidence generation; develop dashboards, summaries, maps, and trackers for informed decision-making.
• Identify data quality gaps and coordinate follow-ups with responsible persons.
• Support the integration and expansion of nutrition modules within DHIS-2 and related digital information systems, including documentation and collaboration with relevant partners.
• Develop capacity-building materials and simple guidance documents to improve utilization of nutrition information systems.
• Provide dedicated knowledge management support for the donor-funded project, including tracking, documentation, reporting, and preparation of donor updates, situation reports, and success stories aligned to project outputs and quality standards.
• Coordinate reporting, documentation, and information sharing among partners, maintaining organized digital records and contributing to cross-learning across various nutrition initiatives.

Education Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, IT, or related field plus at least 2 years of relevant experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.

Desirable Qualifications

• PRINCE2 certification
• ITIL certification

Experience Requirements

• At least 2 years (for Master’s holders) or 4 years (for Bachelor’s holders) managing health or nutrition information systems.
• Experience within UN or similar international organizations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with local contexts and the District Health Information System (DHIS).
• Knowledge of planning and monitoring systems/processes in humanitarian or development settings.
