Job description

Role Overview

The Kitchen Stewarding Executive is responsible for overseeing and assisting stewards to maximize the cleanliness and efficiency of kitchen operations. This role ensures appropriate water temperatures and chemical levels for cleaning are maintained and documented correctly. Additional duties include supporting banquet plate-ups, aiding cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks, providing necessary items, and ensuring banquet and buffet stocks are adequately transported and replenished. The role involves operating and maintaining cleaning tools and equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.

Management and Operational Duties

The Executive assists management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees. They strictly follow all organizational safety and security policies, promptly report any accidents or unsafe conditions, and complete required safety trainings and certifications. A professional appearance and confidentiality regarding proprietary company information are mandatory. The role also involves welcoming and acknowledging guests following company standards, anticipating guest needs, using clear and professional communication, and fostering a positive team environment to meet shared objectives.

Physical Requirements and Additional Responsibilities

The position requires moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. It involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, with frequent movements such as reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pulling, or stooping. The Executive must also navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as part of routine duties and perform other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Work experience: At least two years in a related position.
  • Supervisory experience: At least one year of experience supervising staff.
  • No licenses or certifications required.
