Job description
Position Overview
The Kitchen Stewarding Executive role involves directing and supporting steward staff to improve the cleaning process efficiency within the kitchen and banquet areas. The position requires maintaining appropriate water temperatures and chemical usage for cleaning tasks, assisting with banquet plate-ups, supporting cooks and kitchen staff with various duties, and managing inventory logistics for banquets and buffets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist stewarding team members to optimize cleaning operations.
- Ensure compliance with water temperature and chemical standards and document these measures.
- Help with banquet plate preparations and provide assistance to kitchen cooks and staff as needed.
- Manage stock transport and replenishment for banquet and buffet settings, ensuring items are cleaned and stored properly.
- Operate and maintain cleaning and dishwashing equipment, including hand wash and pot-scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Adhere strictly to company safety and security protocols, report incidents and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety trainings.
- Maintain professionalism in appearance and confidentiality of company information, and uphold company asset protection standards.
- Interact courteously with guests, anticipating and addressing their needs in line with company hospitality standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with peers and management, fostering positive teamwork and support to achieve team goals.
- Maintain quality standards and exceed company expectations consistently.
- Physically capable of handling tasks involving lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and working in varied conditions including uneven surfaces.
- Perform additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- At least two years of relevant work experience in a similar stewarding or kitchen support role.
- At least one year of supervisory experience overseeing staff.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
