About the Role

Gourmet Food Parlour in Salthill, Galway is seeking a committed Kitchen Porter to reinforce our kitchen team. This full-time position requires over 30 hours weekly, working 5 days with flexible availability across Monday to Sunday.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dishes, kitchen tools, and appliances thoroughly.
• Keep kitchen surfaces, floors, and workspaces spotless and organized.
• Handle waste disposal and recycling according to company policies.
• Aid in receiving, checking, and properly storing incoming stock and deliveries.
• Maintain tidy and labelled food storage areas, ensuring proper stock rotation using the FIFO principle.
• Assist chefs by performing simple food preparation tasks as needed.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and well-maintained.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
• Collaborate effectively within the team to facilitate smooth kitchen operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in a professional kitchen environment is essential.
• Strong focus on cleanliness and detail.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Willingness to work during weekends and peak periods.
• Possession of a valid EU passport or appropriate work authorization.
• Proficiency in English language.
• Knowledge of HACCP guidelines is advantageous.
