Located in Bloomsbury, London, The Imperial Hotel is a reimagined lifestyle hotel featuring 357 rooms, multiple dining venues, a workout studio, and Arcus, a rooftop bar that serves as a central destination in the area.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dependable and diligent Kitchen Porter to ensure smooth kitchen operations through maintaining high standards of cleanliness and supporting the kitchen team. This is an excellent chance to develop skills in kitchen operations with opportunities for progression into roles such as Commis Chef, Breakfast Chef, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and Head Chef, accompanied by training from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashers and other cleaning tools to ensure all kitchen utensils, plates, and cutlery are spotless.
- Thoroughly clean appliances, work surfaces, and areas that do not come into contact with food, maintaining strict hygiene standards.
- Assist with stock storage, manage deliveries, and help maintain the cleanliness of the yard area.
- Adhere to food safety protocols and maintain excellent personal hygiene standards.
- Properly handle cleaning chemicals, detergents, and sanitizers with provided safety training.
- Support kitchen staff and drivers with internal delivery tasks when necessary.
- Participate in all mandatory kitchen and food safety training sessions.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of one year’s experience working as a Kitchen Porter.
- Basic proficiency in English communication (equivalent to CEFR A1).
- Ability to follow instructions precisely, work safely, and maintain organization.
- Desirable qualifications include Level 2 Food Safety certification, COSHH training, and experience in hotel kitchens.
