Job description
Role Overview
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving meals while maintaining high standards of food quality and overall presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and de-seeding fruits and vegetables.
- Transport pans, kettles, and food trays safely between work stations, stove, and refrigerator following safety guidelines.
- Properly store food items with correct wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures to ensure safety.
- Set up items daily for purchase.
- Carry out general cleaning tasks including trash disposal to designated areas.
- Distribute necessary supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
- Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure consistent food quality, appropriate serving temperatures, and portion control; promptly inform cooks if food temperatures fall outside acceptable limits.
- Provide friendly, efficient customer service, adhering to defined service steps.
- Address customer concerns and report relevant information to supervisors.
- Ensure adherence to all sanitation and safety standards.
- Deliver service across all retail areas such as cashiering and line serving.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must possess FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
- Experience with cash register operations is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle a demanding workload.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written, with the ability to comprehend instructions.
- Previous experience in food service within healthcare, hotels, restaurants, or fast-food environments is advantageous.
- Physically capable of performing the duties required by the role.
