Role Summary

The Kitchen Porter is a fundamental part of the kitchen team, responsible for maintaining impeccable food hygiene standards. This role involves managing dishwashing, ensuring kitchen equipment is kept clean, assisting with basic food prep, and supporting overall kitchen operations to keep everything running efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the wash-up area efficiently to meet hygiene standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen tools and equipment following the cleaning schedule.
• Assist with elementary food preparation tasks as required.
• Collaborate closely with kitchen staff and other team members ensuring smooth operations.
• Uphold excellent personal presentation and demonstrate confidence and politeness in interactions.
• Adapt to flexible working hours and complete general duties as assigned by supervisors.

The role is based at The Waterhead Inn in Ambleside, with Waterhead Pier opposite and a short walk from Ambleside’s bustling centre. This location offers a great base for exploring the Lake District’s natural beauty, outdoor activities, and local shops and eateries.
