About the Role
Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort, a distinguished four-star hotel set on an expansive 130-acre Victorian estate in Ireland, is seeking an experienced Kitchen Porter to join their dedicated team. This key position involves maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen to ensure smooth operation across all hotel outlets.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a consistent supply of clean dishes, glassware, cutlery, and pots for all hotel food service areas.
- Operate the dishwashing machine to clean utensils efficiently and hygienically.
- Regularly clean and sanitize dishwashing equipment and kitchen areas, including cooking units and storage shelves.
- Manage washing of pots and pans, returning them to appropriate locations promptly.
- Support kitchen staff by clearing boxes, removing soiled equipment, and keeping workspaces clean.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors and still rooms daily to uphold hygiene standards.
- Monitor waste disposal, removing refuse regularly to maintain cleanliness.
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols and report any breakages immediately to the Head Chef.
Requirements
- Willingness and flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, Christmas, and public holidays.
- Legal ability to work beyond 11pm on weekdays.
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment such as a hotel, restaurant, or bar is preferred.
