Job Overview

This role requires on-site presence at our Whitehorse location. No specific educational qualifications are mandatory, but previous experience in a kitchen environment is considered advantageous.

Primary Responsibilities

• Sanitize and clean dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units thoroughly.
• Operate dishwashing machines to clean dishes, glassware, and flatware.
• Organize and store cleaned dishes appropriately in designated areas.
• Manually wash and sanitize dishes and kitchen items when necessary.
• Utilize both manual and electrical kitchen tools to prepare food by peeling, slicing, and trimming.
• Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing kitchen surfaces, cupboards, storage spaces, appliances, and equipment.
• Manage inventory by receiving, unpacking, and properly storing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and other storage facilities.
• Dispose of kitchen waste and garbage efficiently.
• Maintain kitchen utensils by sharpening knives regularly.
• Keep floors clean by sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing.
• Prepare vegetables and fruits by washing, peeling, and cutting them.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• The position is based in a fast-moving work setting requiring adherence to repetitive tasks.
• Extended periods of standing are expected.
• The role demands working well under pressure.
• Lifting or handling weights up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds) is involved.
