Kitchen Assistant

Role Overview

Join our culinary team as a Kitchen Assistant where your contributions will ensure a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. You will support chefs with food preparation, receive and manage daily deliveries, and maintain safety documentation, all while helping the department function seamlessly and fostering your professional growth.

Key Duties

• Operate dishwashing equipment and clean all kitchen utensils, pots, and pans.
• Receive and manage daily stock deliveries effectively.
• Assist with lunch service and perform basic food preparation tasks.
• Adhere to chemical handling protocols, food preparation standards, knife safety, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct thorough cleaning of the kitchen and all related equipment.
• Ensure proper storage and cleanliness of food items aligned with food safety checklists.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Self-driven with a strong work ethic.
• Genuine interest in food preparation coupled with creativity.
• Ability to comprehend and comply with food safety and health guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality field is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Training including Food Safety Level 2 will be provided to ensure your readiness.
