Junior Site Engineer

Role Overview

The Junior Site Engineer will oversee and manage construction activities under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) initiative focused on educational infrastructure such as school buildings, classrooms, toilets, and boundary walls. The role requires ensuring completion of projects on schedule while adhering to quality, safety, and government regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction operations at designated school project sites.
• Ensure work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project deadlines.
• Oversee excavation, RCC, masonry, plastering, flooring, painting, and finishing tasks.
• Conduct regular site inspections to uphold quality standards.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, school authorities, and government officials for smooth workflow.
• Prepare and submit Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) and maintain thorough site documentation.
• Verify work measurements and keep Measurement Book (MB) records updated.
• Manage timely availability and efficient use of construction materials onsite.
• Monitor labor productivity and maintain attendance records of onsite manpower.
• Coordinate necessary material testing and quality assurance checks.
• Enforce safety standards to maintain a secure site environment.
• Identify and escalate site issues, delays, and technical challenges to the Project Manager.
• Support contractor bill preparation and validate executed work quantities.
• Ensure project completion within budget and time constraints.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Civil Engineering.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in building construction projects; preference for background in government, school infrastructure, or institutional projects.

Essential Skills

• Familiarity with building construction methods and site execution processes.
• Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Basic proficiency in quantity estimation and billing procedures.
• Understanding of quality control methods and construction materials.
• Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD software.
• Strong communication capabilities and coordination aptitude.
• Ability to operate independently across multiple project sites.

Compensation

Monthly salary range: INR 25,000 to 35,000.
