Role Overview

We are inviting a motivated individual to join our Dry Cargo team in Singapore as a Junior Panamax Broker. This role presents a unique opportunity for someone early in their shipping career to gain hands-on experience within an established Panamax broking desk and acquire direct exposure to the international dry bulk market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Panamax desk with daily chartering and broking operations.
• Track vessel locations, cargo needs, freight pricing, and market trends.
• Acquire detailed knowledge of vital Panamax trade routes, commodity flows, and market patterns.
• Help align cargo opportunities with appropriate vessels.
• Engage and communicate with vessel owners, charterers, operators, and other industry participants.
• Support negotiation processes, advancing deals from inquiry stage to final fixture.
• Utilize market platforms, data analytics, and tools to spot opportunities and supply market insights.
• Collaborate closely with IG colleagues across global offices and brokerage networks.
• Establish and nurture strong connections with existing and potential clients.
• Develop commercial judgment and negotiation expertise to progressively assume greater business and client responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

We seek a commercially astute, inquisitive, and driven professional eager to build a career in shipbroking. Educational and Professional Background

The ideal applicant will hold a degree or relevant certification in shipping, maritime studies, logistics, business, economics, finance, international trade, or related fields. Approximately 12 to 24 months of relevant experience in shipping, shipbroking, chartering, commodities, logistics, energy, trading, or similar commercial environments is preferred. While direct broking experience is advantageous, strong commercial potential, shipping industry understanding, and clear ambition to grow in shipbroking are equally valued.
