Junior Estimator - Sheet Metal

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Estimation Engineer to join our metal fabrication team based in Ajman. This position involves preparing precise cost evaluations for projects involving sheet metal fabrication, supporting senior estimation staff, and collaborating closely with engineering and procurement departments. The candidate should possess practical experience in metal fabrication cost estimation, a thorough technical understanding of fabrication methods, and the capability to work effectively under tight schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate technical drawings, both 2D and 3D, to determine costs of materials, labor, and finishing tasks specific to sheet metal fabrication.
• Manage and input estimation data using Odoo ERP, including handling Bills of Materials and monitoring project estimates.
• Assist senior estimators in preparing detailed commercial bids and quotes.
• Conduct precise quantity take-offs and collaborate with the procurement team for updated market prices of materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel.
• Support process improvement by analyzing manufacturing techniques like laser cutting, bending, welding, and powder coating to identify the most cost-efficient options.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in sheet metal or metal fabrication estimation (this is mandatory).
• Experienced user of Odoo ERP and AutoCAD; familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software is advantageous.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
