Junior Estimator

Role Overview

Select Roofing and Cladding is looking to recruit a Junior Estimator based in Dublin 22. This full-time, permanent position offers hands-on learning from an experienced Estimating Manager and interaction with the Commercial and Operational teams. The successful candidate will engage in understanding, measuring, and pricing high-quality roofing and cladding projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Examine drawings, specifications, and tender documentation thoroughly.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist in assembling labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Gather and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Detect incomplete information, inconsistencies, risks, and raise tender queries.
• Keep meticulous records including tender files, trackers, pricing assumptions, and documentation.
• Assist in tender submissions, clarifications, revisions, and the handover of projects.
• Participate in site visits and collaborate with Estimating, Commercial, Design, Procurement, and Operations teams.
• Develop specialized knowledge of roofing and cladding systems through hands-on experience and training.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong numeracy and exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines confidently.
• Clear and confident communication with a readiness to ask pertinent questions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and enthusiasm for learning new software.
• Genuine interest in construction, cost estimating, and commercial considerations.
• Possession of a full driving license and readiness to attend site visits as needed.

A relevant background such as a construction-related qualification, experience in estimating, quantity surveying, roofing, cladding, or technical administration is beneficial but not mandatory.
