Job description
Role Summary
The Junior Electrical Engineer - Documentation will assist electrical engineering and project teams by preparing, reviewing, organizing, and managing electrical documentation throughout the project lifecycle. This role centers on guaranteeing the accuracy, proper coordination, and timely submission of electrical technical documents, reports, trackers, submissions, records, and correspondence in line with project and Tahakom standards. Collaboration with Senior Electrical Engineers, QA/QC, planning, procurement, subcontractors, consultants, and project managers is essential to ensure smooth documentation and technical coordination.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and maintain electrical engineering and project documents.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly electrical progress reports using data from site and engineering teams.
- Gather and systematically organize electrical progress data, quantities, photographs, inspection records, and supporting evidence.
- Maintain comprehensive electrical document registers that include drawings, RFIs, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, MIRs, WIRs, testing records, and other technical records.
- Monitor status updates for electrical drawings, submittals, RFIs, material approvals, and inspections.
- Provide assistance to Senior Electrical Engineers in preparing RFIs, technical correspondence, transmittals, and technical submissions.
- Review electrical documentation for completeness, accuracy, consistency, proper formatting, references, and attachments prior to submission.
- Keep records of consultant/client feedback and ensure follow-up actions lead to timely responses and closures.
- Develop and update progress trackers, action and submission logs, procurement trackers, and outstanding items lists related to electrical works.
- Support compilation of electrical inspection and testing documentation.
- Maintain records related to electrical equipment and systems, including but not limited to LV panels, lighting, small power, earthing systems, lightning protection, generators, UPS, PV systems, and EV chargers.
- Assist in assembling testing and commissioning databases, certificates, inspection records, and handover documents.
- Contribute to preparing electrical as-built documentation, O&M manuals, warranties, certificates, and final handover reports.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and site teams to ensure availability and proper recording of electrical documentation.
- Help prepare presentations, dashboards, progress reports, and management reports related to electrical activities.
- Maintain well-ordered electronic and physical filing systems for all electrical project documents.
- Provide support to Senior Electrical Engineer and Project Manager with technical and documentation-related activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Open to fresh graduates or candidates with up to three years of relevant experience.
Experience & Technical Skills
- Between 0 to 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, MEP construction, project documentation, or related areas.
- Preferred experience in electrical construction or project documentation.
- Prior exposure to working with consultants, contractors, or project management teams is advantageous.
- Sound understanding of electrical engineering principles and construction practices.
- Fundamental knowledge of LV electrical systems, lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection, generators, UPS, PV systems, and related electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, RFIs, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and inspection documentation.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Preferred familiarity with AutoCAD and document control systems including technical document registers.
- Capable of preparing formal technical reports, trackers, logs, and correspondence.
- Good command of written and spoken English for creating project documents, reports, technical communication, and submissions according to Tahakom standards.
