As a Junior Android Developer, you'll contribute to creating a dependable, intuitive mobile experience using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and state-of-the-art Android technologies. You will collaborate with seasoned engineers, participate in technical decisions, and progressively take charge of features through their entire lifecycle, effectively honing your engineering expertise while impacting daily banking convenience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop meaningful Android features prioritizing usability, efficiency, and stability using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Assist in building and enhancing a modular Android architecture leveraging MVVM, Kotlin Coroutines, and Android architecture components.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, backend developers, and fellow engineers to translate requirements into operational mobile solutions.
  • Help deliver about 80% of the prioritized MVP user flows by integrating backend APIs and ensuring smooth user experiences.
  • Maintain high standards for code quality through thorough automated testing, peer code reviews, and clear documentation.
  • Contribute to refining CI/CD pipelines, development processes, and shared components, embracing ongoing feedback and team discussions.

Qualifications

  • Experience of approximately 1 to 3 years hands-on building native Android applications, including internships or personal projects.
  • Strong familiarity with Kotlin language and modern Android development practices such as Jetpack Compose.
  • Good grasp of Android fundamentals including architecture components, MVVM pattern, and asynchronous programming with Kotlin Coroutines.
  • Competence in integrating RESTful APIs and using Git-based development workflows.
  • A commitment to writing clean, maintainable code with a desire to enhance testing and debugging skills.
  • Collaborative team player with openness to feedback and confident communication skills in English.

Additional Desired Skills

  • Experience with automated test frameworks like JUnit and Espresso.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and app release procedures on mobile platforms.
  • Understanding Material Design principles and publishing to Google Play Store.
  • Familiarity with Java and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proficiency in German language is a plus.
