Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Accountant to support regional operations, focusing on cost analysis, accounts payable, expense recognition, fixed asset management, and month-end financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger accounts to ensure consistent cost allocation.
- Take ownership of the monthly accrual process.
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and approval before payment processing.
- Address vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Reconcile vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and correct errors.
- Support month-end closing activities and post transactions in ledgers and related records.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare detailed account analyses.
- Ensure adherence to Group accounting policies during transaction processing.
- Oversee accounts payable postings and resolve associated issues.
- Generate internal management reports and conduct performance analysis in a timely manner.
- Perform intercompany postings and reconciliations.
- Assist with preparing necessary tax returns in compliance with regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of internal accounting processes.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and capital expenditure reports.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations to identify and investigate variances, liaise with business units to resolve issues, and initiate corrective measures.
- Provide support to colleagues as backup and assist with various ad-hoc finance projects as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
- Between 3 to 5 years of general ledger experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-volume accounting environment.
- 1 to 2 years of experience managing cost analysis functions.
- Proficient experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Netsuite is preferred.
- Experience using purchase order software.
- Good understanding of Saudi Arabian tax compliance requirements.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and expense recognition.
- Intermediate to advanced expertise in Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders across the business.
- Capability to prepare detailed reports and present findings to management.
- Proactive, action-oriented, with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving results.
