Overview
New Zealand’s top news and talk brand, Newstalk ZB, is seeking an experienced, intelligent, and dynamic journalist to become a key member of its award-winning integrated news team based in Christchurch.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Possess a journalism qualification coupled with at least one year of professional experience; broadcasting background is advantageous.
- Produce concise, well-structured, and clear written content.
- Maintain a strong general knowledge and passion for current news events.
- Exhibit a good broadcasting voice and the ability to respond promptly during live on-air segments.
- Bring innovative ideas and diverse general awareness to the role.
- Be proactive as an individual contributor and effective when collaborating within a team environment.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working weekends and shift patterns, including early mornings and late evenings.
- Approach work with an engaging, optimistic mindset and a good sense of humor.
- Establish and nurture a broad network of contacts across various sectors.
- Show openness and eagerness to enhance skills across multiple media platforms.
