Role Summary

The company is searching for a seasoned Joinery/Workshop Manager responsible for managing the daily operations of the workshop team. This role focuses on coordinating joiners and apprentices, ensuring workflow efficiency, timely delivery, and maintaining superior quality in manufacturing and finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations and manage the joinery team including apprentices
• Receive and communicate production schedules and work orders clearly to the team
• Organize daily task allocation, monitor progress, and review finished work for quality standards
• Maintain a hands-on leadership presence on the workshop floor to promptly identify and address production issues
• Ensure rigorous quality control, especially in joinery finish and spray process adherence
• Lead and support people development and team motivation
• Manage workshop organization, including materials and tools
• Enforce adherence to health and safety policies
• Coordinate communication between various functions involved in production

Candidate Profile

• Previous demonstrated experience in roles such as Joiner, Senior Joiner, Workshop Supervisor, or Workshop Manager within a joinery manufacturing environment
• Strong practical knowledge of bespoke and commercial joinery works
• Experience managing and supervising joinery tradespeople and apprentices
• Proficient in interpreting production drawings, specifications, and working from work orders
• Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to excellent workmanship quality
• Experience in overseeing spray finishing procedures and ensuring finishing quality
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to set clear instructions and priorities
• Competent in using production management IT systems
• Keen understanding and implementation of workshop health and safety standards

Compensation
