Java Full Stack Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Java Full Stack Engineer for a permanent position located in Sydney, Australia. This role focuses on designing and developing modern software solutions using Java technologies.

Core Technical Responsibilities and Skills

• Develop and maintain Java applications using versions 8, 11, 17, or higher.
• Implement backend services with Spring Boot framework.
• Design and build microservices architectures.
• Create robust REST APIs for seamless integration.
• Work with event-driven architectures, utilizing messaging platforms such as Kafka or IBM MQ.
• Develop and optimize SQL databases, including Oracle, MSSQL, and Aurora.
• Design and implement NoSQL databases effectively.

Cloud Expertise

• Experience working with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and Step Functions.
• Implement serverless architectures on the AWS platform.

DevOps and Development Practices

• Utilize GitHub and GitHub Actions for version control and continuous integration.
• Work with TeamCity and UrbanCode Deploy for deployment automation.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in agile software development workflows using Jira and Confluence.

Desired Frontend Development Skills

• Proficiency in React.js, with preference for React frameworks like Next.js.
• Experience with state management tools such as Redux or Redux Toolkit.
• Competence in JavaScript and TypeScript programming.
• Use of React Testing Library for frontend testing.

Monitoring, Security, and Best Practices

• Familiarity with observability tools including Splunk, Observe, Grafana, Prometheus, and AppDynamics.
• Apply secure coding practices and manage certificates and secrets securely.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and adhere to application security standards and best practices.
