Job Summary

As a Janitor, you will play an essential role in maintaining the clean, safe, and inviting environment Farm Boy is known for. Your attention to detail, pride in your work, and commitment to excellent customer service will support both patrons and team members, enhancing the overall in-store experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and engaging customer interactions aligned with Farm Boy's dedication to the superior fresh shopping experience.
• Greet and assist customers according to Farm Boy Service Standards when required.
• Carry out general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and dusting to keep work and storage spaces orderly and safe.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of shared areas such as eating spaces, washrooms, and locker rooms.
• Support inventory management and supply purchasing efforts as directed.
• Adhere strictly to corporate policies with an emphasis on Health & Safety, Food Safety, and correct operation of equipment.
• Perform designated opening and closing tasks and aid teammates when necessary.
• Occasionally undertake additional duties to assist with overall store operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A strong desire to deliver exceptional and inviting customer service.
• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience in a food retail context is beneficial.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and detail.
• A team-focused mindset complemented by solid communication and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment involving physical work such as extended standing, heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, use of protective gear, and work in environmental conditions including noise, dirt, dust, and cold areas.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English is required; French language skills are an advantage.
