Role Responsibilities

• Carry out janitorial and maintenance duties with minimal supervision, adhering to instructions from the facility manager or supervisor.
• Clean all areas of the facility by removing dirt, dust, litter, and debris using brooms, mops, brushes, and other hand tools.
• Make several daily rounds to collect and dispose of trash and debris.
• Empty trash bins both indoors and outdoors, including offices.
• Identify and report burnt-out light bulbs and equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Address spills by cleaning them immediately.
• Submit requests for repairs or maintenance when required.
• Comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and regulations.
• Clean restrooms thoroughly on a regular basis.
• Maintain an inventory of janitorial supplies to ensure availability.
• Complete daily janitorial service documentation.
• Operate commercial cleaning machines appropriate for job tasks.
• Remove snow from entrances, exits, and designated areas using shovels and suitable equipment.
• Report any safety hazards, policy violations, or unusual incidents to management immediately.
• Apply customer service principles including the Three Keys to Customer Satisfaction and Five Customer Service Behaviors.
• Assist customers as directed and manage complaints independently or with supervisory help.
• Understand all operational aspects and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance, wearing complete uniforms during shifts.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Previous experience in janitorial work preferred but not mandatory.
• Facility maintenance, electrical, or painting experience/training may be required depending on assignment.
• Valid state-issued driver's license with a good driving record necessary if operating company vehicles.
• Availability for variable shifts including nights and weekends as needed.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
• Strong customer service focus with the ability to respond positively to service requests.
• Adaptable to changing work conditions and able to manage unexpected situations.
• Sound judgment and professionalism, able to perform under pressure.
• Physical capability to perform prolonged standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and various movements such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and bending frequently.
• Able to work in outdoor conditions including exposure to dust, chemicals, extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.

Salary and Benefits

The role offers a pay rate of $16.16 per hour. Eligible employees can enroll in company benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance plans, flexible spending accounts, long- and short-term disability coverage, life and accident insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
