Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Data Center (DC) Hands & Feet Engineer to join our team with a backfill role. This position involves supporting infrastructure activities across multiple data center locations in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Working Hours
The role requires availability during a service window from 12:00 noon IST to 21:00 IST, operating 8 hours a day for five days a week.
Primary Duties
- Installing, upgrading, and decommissioning servers.
- Performing network patching on both copper and fiber cables, including thorough channel testing.
- Handling installation, upgrading, and decommissioning of network hardware.
- Troubleshooting and repairing network hardware when faults arise.
- Managing media operations such as loading and ejecting backup tapes.
- Executing secure disk wiping procedures utilizing Blancco software on servers and storage disks.
- Overseeing store management functions including goods receipting, shipping, receiving, and maintaining accurate stock inventories.
- Escorting visitors during their access to data halls, enforcing compliance with all DC regulations.
- Updating inventory logs and tools as part of routine operational responsibilities.
Locations and Travel
This role requires willingness to travel between four data center sites within Mumbai: BKC, Pawai, Saki Vihar, and Worli.
