IT Security Architect

Role Overview

The IT Security Architect at Glanbia Management Services Ltd plays a pivotal role in devising and executing the company's IT security vision and roadmap. This position ensures that enterprise security architecture aligns with Glanbia's strategic objectives, embedding security principles within IT ecosystems to safeguard systems, networks, and data.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Head of Information Security, Risk & Compliance to establish and maintain an overarching security strategy aligned with Glanbia’s risk profile and requirements.
• Collaboratively develop and uphold the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and relevant policies compliant with industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI DSS.
• Design, maintain, and align enterprise-wide security architecture frameworks, incorporating third-party systems and infrastructure components.
• Conduct structured risk assessments across the enterprise’s IT systems to guarantee compliance with technology and privacy regulations.
• Oversee the design and integration of data sources with MXDR partners and advise on SOC operational technologies and incident management.
• Monitor critical security controls including vulnerability management, application security, business continuity, identity & access management, firewalls, endpoint protections, IDS/IPS, and privileged access management.
• Provide leadership and guidance on PAM best practices and enforce security policies across IT teams.
• Evaluate and recommend security vendors and products ensuring alignment with Glanbia’s security strategy and requirements.
• Offer security oversight for major IT infrastructure and application changes, assessing related risks and compliance with security standards.
• Consult on vulnerability detection, including technical guidance on penetration testing and reviewing assessment reports.
• Support major incident response, disaster recovery efforts, and governance of IT changes requiring Information Security approvals.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in fields such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or Engineering, or hold equivalent professional experience.
• Prefer candidates with recognized industry certifications like CISM, CISSP, SABSA, CCSP, or GIAC.
• Hold more than 7 years of experience in IT security architecture, security governance, or IT risk management.
• Proven expertise in developing and sustaining enterprise-wide security architectures embedding security principles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage comprehensive security controls and frameworks, including detailed analytic and design contributions.
• Experienced in performing structured IT risk assessments related to vendors and projects.
• Extensive knowledge of prominent security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI DSS and their application to security architecture.
• Strong grasp of encryption techniques, data protection mechanisms, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
• Experience reviewing IT projects against security standards, conducting risk assessments, and orchestrating mitigations.
• Capable of managing partner services for executing security functions like incident response, vulnerability management, threat hunting, and audit processes.
• Knowledgeable in Identity and Access Management concepts such as RBAC, PAM, MFA, and their best practices.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to communicate security expertise in understandable business terms.

This role is located at Glanbia's Citywest office in Dublin with flexible hybrid working options to support work-life balance.
