About the Role
The IT Project Manager will spearhead strategic technology programs that facilitate business transformation, digital innovation, compliance with regulations, and modernization of insurance and takaful technology platforms. This position demands robust leadership skills paired with substantial experience managing complex IT initiatives within the insurance sector, particularly life and takaful insurance domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute large-scale technology projects spanning life and family insurance/takaful, including product launches, platform implementations, migrations, digital transformation efforts, and regulatory updates.
- Take charge of programs involving insurance operations, digital channels, enterprise integrations, and mission-critical business platforms.
- Design delivery strategies, implementation plans, governance frameworks, and metrics for success.
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects, manage dependencies, control budgets, allocate resources, and balance priorities aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide comprehensive reports to executive leadership and steering committees regarding project progress, risks, financial health, and key decision points.
- Foster cooperation among business units, technology teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure program success.
- Guarantee that projects yield quantifiable business advantages while complying with regulatory, security, and governance standards.
- Encourage ongoing enhancements in delivery methodologies, standards, and governance procedures.
Experience and Qualifications
- Possess a bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Accumulate at least 10 years of experience in IT project and program management.
- Have no less than 5 years' practical experience delivering technology projects within the insurance or takaful industry, focusing on life or family insurance.
- Professional qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum certifications are advantageous.
Domain Knowledge in Insurance/Takaful
- Thorough grasp of insurance and takaful business operations and technology landscapes including policy administration and servicing platforms, underwriting, new business processes, claims management, product lifecycle, premium billing, reinsurance administration, digital customer platforms, distribution channels, anti-money laundering (AML), know your customer (KYC), insurance regulations, and regulatory reporting with data analytics.
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on experience with core insurance/takaful platforms, policy administration systems, claims management solutions, customer-facing portals, digital projects, and enterprise integration initiatives.
- Familiarity with cloud computing technologies, enterprise applications, and data-centric transformation endeavors.
- Proficiency in multiple delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches.
