Role Overview

Trust is paramount for us as we handle sensitive data from our clients and portfolio companies. To scale this trust, we are searching for an IT Compliance Manager to reinforce the foundation of our 4-person IT team supporting roughly 150 colleagues. This role involves ensuring internal processes are effective and compliant while acting as the primary contact for matters relating to information security, data protection, and compliance. We focus on practical, lived IT security principles tailored for a growing tech organization, not theoretical policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned with ISO 27001 and BSI IT-Grundschutz, prioritizing what is truly necessary for A11.
• Manage AI governance sensitively by developing pragmatic guidelines for new AI tool usage, overseeing unofficial AI applications, and fostering security awareness.
• Serve as the go-to advisor for leadership and teams on information security, customer compliance, and technology tool selection.
• Create documentation and processes that are actively used and understood, including conducting regular presentations, communicating directly with teams, and iteratively improving policies.

Candidate Profile

• At least 4 to 5 years of professional experience in IT security or compliance with a focus on conceptual work rather than purely operational tasks.
• Experience participating in the development of an ISMS with a hands-on approach, even if not in a leading role.
• Strong interpersonal skills enabling autonomous integration within a company, extensive cross-department networking, and resilience in overcoming resistance.
• Good foundational knowledge of standards like ISO 27001 and/or BSI IT-Grundschutz, with the ability to apply them pragmatically.
• Technical understanding sufficient to collaborate effectively with IT teams regarding cloud infrastructure, APIs, data flows, and related technology.
• A pragmatic mindset recognizing that compliance is a continuous journey requiring prioritization, iteration, and the capacity to handle ambiguity.
• Fluency in German and English at C1 proficiency level.
