About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Investment Manager to steer and execute our organization's investment direction, oversee investment portfolios, pinpoint high-value ventures, and ensure sustainable returns while managing risks effectively. This position is vital for propelling the company's long-term expansion and elevating shareholder value.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine both short- and long-term investment strategies aligned with company goals.
- Conduct thorough analysis of local and regional markets, industries, and economic trends to uncover compelling investment prospects.
- Assess investment opportunities including mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and joint ventures.
- Advise executive leadership and the Board with investment recommendations and strategic insights.
- Create and enhance governance frameworks, policies, and decision-making procedures related to investments.
- Manage and optimize investment portfolios to maximize returns.
- Lead detailed due diligence encompassing financial, legal, commercial, operational, and technical aspects.
- Track portfolio performance and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Design and tailor portfolio structures to meet targeted risk-adjusted return goals.
- Drive investment transactions from initial evaluation to deal closing.
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify new investment opportunities in targeted sectors.
- Recognize and mitigate investment-associated risks.
- Stay informed on economic, regulatory, and market developments impacting investments.
- Set risk appetite, investment limits, early warning signals, and exit strategies.
- Ensure strict adherence to investment and risk policies.
- Forge and maintain robust relationships with investors, financial institutions, strategic allies, and stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations related to strategic investments, partnerships, and funding arrangements.
- Represent the company before investment bodies, financial firms, and external parties.
- Utilize a broad network of investors, funds, banks, advisors, developers, and governmental organizations.
- Structure and evaluate financing options, capital configurations, and funding strategies for opportunities.
- Prepare regular investment performance reports and presentations.
- Develop advanced financial models to guide investment choices.
- Present investment proposals to executives and committees, detailing assessments, alternatives, risk analyses, projected returns, scenarios, and advice.
- Maintain and update investment policies, authority matrices, conflict-of-interest protocols, and committee guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Investment, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or relevant disciplines.
- Master's degree (MBA, Finance, Investment, or related field) is preferred.
- Minimum eight years of experience in investment, asset, or portfolio management roles.
- At least three years serving in a leadership capacity such as Investment Manager or equivalent.
- Demonstrated history of successfully managing or contributing to investments generating tangible returns.
- Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, financing, private equity, or real estate development.
Preferred Certifications
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA)
Technical Proficiencies
- Advanced skills in financial analysis and investment valuation techniques.
- Expertise in financial modeling tools including Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Return on Investment (ROI), Payback Period, Sensitivity, and Scenario Analysis.
- Investment portfolio oversight and management.
- Comprehensive due diligence coordination.
- Feasibility studies and investment evaluations.
- Risk management and optimizing returns within investment portfolios.
- Deal structuring and transaction management.
