Overview
The Investment Manager will be responsible for directing the Group's investment activities while also assisting with treasury functions and financial management for the organisation and the Family Office. This role requires evaluating potential investments, managing existing portfolios, supporting capital allocation decisions, and monitoring market conditions to provide strategic advice to senior leadership and the Family Office.
Key Duties
- Oversee and review the Group’s investment portfolio, ensuring efficient capital utilization.
- Conduct financial analysis, perform valuations, and carry out market research and due diligence to assess investment opportunities.
- Formulate investment recommendations considering risk, expected returns, liquidity, and alignment with the Group’s objectives.
- Track current investments’ performance, asset mix, diversification, and associated risks.
- Manage treasury tasks including liquidity oversight, forecasting cash flows, and deploying surplus assets.
- Stay updated on interest rate trends, inflation, forex fluctuations, economic shifts, and capital markets to inform investment and treasury decisions.
- Assist in capital allocation, financing, and other strategic financial initiatives within the Group.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with banks, brokers, asset managers, investment firms, and other financial service providers.
- Provide financial and investment analyses to guide the Family Office’s wealth and investment management.
- Coordinate with external investment managers, advisors, and professionals as necessary.
- Deliver periodic reports concerning investment results, treasury status, liquidity, risks, and market opportunities for the Group MD/CEO and Principal.
- Ensure all investment and treasury activities comply with internal policies, risk limits, controls, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
- Have 8 to 12+ years of relevant experience in investment management, treasury, investment banking, asset management, corporate finance, or similar disciplines.
- Demonstrated strong expertise in both investment analysis and treasury management functions.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian financial and capital markets, including investment products.
- Proven proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, investment research, and due diligence processes.
- Experience managing investment portfolios and conducting investment evaluations.
- Solid understanding of liquidity control, cash flow forecasting, and capital deployment strategies.
- Experience in maintaining partnerships with banks, brokers, asset managers, and financial institutions.
- Previous engagement supporting Family Offices, private investment offices, investment firms, or high-net-worth principals is highly advantageous.
- Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CFA are strongly preferred.
- Exemplary analytical, commercial acumen and decision-making capabilities.
