Role Overview

This full-time Intermediate Transport Planner/Engineer position is based onsite in Auckland. The role entails conducting transport planning assessments related to land development and infrastructure projects, compiling technical reports and necessary documentation, and assisting in designing transport solutions that complement urban and environmental goals.

Key activities include transport modeling, analyzing traffic and network performance, and contributing expertise to resource consent and development applications. The role requires close collaboration with planners, surveyors, engineers, external partners, participation in project and client meetings, and providing support to senior staff to ensure delivery of practical, high-quality transport outcomes.

Additional responsibilities include managing allocated tasks, ensuring adherence to time and budget constraints, and maintaining consistent communication with project teams and clients.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Demonstrated expertise in Transportation Planning and Transport Modelling, particularly applied to land development or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Transportation Management and Operations Management principles to foster safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions.
• Strong communication capabilities, including writing clear technical reports, engaging stakeholders, and active participation in project meetings.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering, transport engineering, planning, or a closely related field.
• Proficiency in transport and traffic modeling software and a solid understanding of regional transport standards and guidelines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and manage workloads to meet deadlines.
• Professional membership or eligibility for membership in recognized engineering or planning organizations is advantageous.
• A commitment to sustainable design principles and enthusiasm for creating resilient, well-connected communities.
