Interior Designer

Overview

Join Carr as a Residential Interior Designer in Brisbane, contributing to sophisticated interiors primarily for multi-residential and high-rise developments within a collaborative professional studio setting. This full-time role involves working closely with senior team members to ensure exceptional design outcomes from conceptual phases through to documentation and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Interior Designers and Associates to develop and refine conceptual design and planning that aligns with Carr's design ethos.
• Create spatial layouts, test fitting, and schematic designs to support project development.
• Conduct research to verify technical feasibility and enhance design solutions.
• Prepare detailed design development presentations and comprehensive documentation packages.
• Produce tender and construction documentation, including drawings and schedules with precise project information.
• Foster productive relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants.
• Support junior team members and actively engage in knowledge sharing within the studio.
• Contribute to marketing and business development activities to promote Carr’s brand and projects.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design products and materials to enrich Carr’s image and product library.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of design systems and practices.
• Comply with quality control, risk management, and company policies including adherence to Carr’s Quality, Safety, and Environment System.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in interior design with strong skills in conceptual design and space planning.
• Experience working on multi-residential and high-rise or tower projects; additional exposure to residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors is advantageous.
• Comprehensive skills in preparing presentations, drawings, schedules, and documentation through all project stages.
• Proficient in advanced graphic and 3D interior design software such as Revit, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and oversee project details meticulously.
• Excellent communication abilities both written and verbal, confident in interactions with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to identify potential issues early and propose practical solutions.
• Adaptability to evolving project requirements and effectiveness in a fast-paced design environment.
• Client-oriented, capable of independently managing responsibilities while contributing collaboratively within a team.
• Understanding the importance of delivering high-quality outcomes within project timelines, budgets, and fee constraints.
