Overview
McGrathNicol, a prominent independent professional services firm based in Canberra, ACT, is expanding its national security division within the Advisory team. With over two decades of expertise supporting organizations through critical transitions in diverse sectors, McGrathNicol is looking for an experienced intelligence professional to join and lead its team of open-source intelligence analysts. This full-time permanent position involves working on complex analytical projects focused on national security priorities in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate open-source intelligence collection and analytical efforts aligned with national security objectives.
- Develop, draft, and critically evaluate thorough intelligence reports and client deliverables.
- Offer strategic insights and advisories to government and national security stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to analysts and junior personnel.
- Oversee project execution, manage stakeholder relationships, and maintain client engagement.
- Identify and forecast emerging risks in defense, intelligence, and security by utilizing sophisticated analytical techniques.
- Support business development and contribute actively to the growth of the national security practice.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in composing written intelligence assessments, preferably within Australia's national security environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of intelligence collection, analytical, and assessment frameworks.
- Outstanding skills in written communication and briefing preparation.
- Experience managing projects, engaging stakeholders, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Capacity to exercise sound judgement in sensitive and complex operational contexts.
- Chinese language proficiency is advantageous but not compulsory.
- Possession or willingness to obtain Australian Government security clearance at NV1/NV2 level.
