Job description

Role Overview

The Integration Solution Architect will take ownership of defining and steering integration strategies across diverse technologies, including APIs, microservices, messaging systems, event-driven services, batch processing, and robust file transfer solutions. This position demands coordination of integration architecture across various customer channels, operational platforms, and core banking systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end integration architecture for transformation projects.
  • Establish integration patterns for synchronous and asynchronous APIs, message queuing, event streaming, batch processing, secure file transfers, and legacy system interfaces.
  • Architect and choreograph integration flows spanning multiple applications and delivery teams.
  • Define API contracts, event schemas, interface specifications, and service interaction models.
  • Develop strategies for routing, transformation, orchestration, validation, reconciliation, and exception handling.
  • Specify message-handling protocols covering idempotency, ordering, duplicate detection, timeouts, retries, dead-letter queues, replay, and recovery.
  • Design secure interfaces between on-premises infrastructure, cloud platforms, third-party systems, and vendor products.
  • Set authentication, authorization, encryption, certificate management, and secrets management standards for integrations.
  • Implement observability mechanisms including traceability, correlation identifiers, monitoring, logging, and alerts.
  • Collaborate with integration teams and engineering squads to ensure consistent application of integration patterns.
  • Create interface inventories, integration diagrams, sequence charts, and system interaction models.
  • Manage transition approaches where legacy and target systems operate concurrently.
  • Identify and mitigate integration dependencies, delivery order requirements, and interface risks.
  • Present integration architecture in governance reviews and forums.

Candidate Profile & Mandatory Skills

  • Extensive solution architecture expertise, ideally 7-8+ years in solution design.
  • Proven experience with APIs, microservices, message queues, event-driven frameworks, batch jobs, and secure file transfer mechanisms.
  • Well-versed in synchronous/asynchronous integration patterns and blending modern cloud services with legacy systems.
  • Expertise in API management aspects including security, version control, throttling, and lifecycle governance.
  • Deep understanding of message integrity concerns such as idempotency, ordering, retries, and error management.
  • Skilled in defining canonical data models, data transformations, orchestration, and decoupling services.
  • Strong foundation in identity management, encryption, transport security, and secure connectivity strategies.
  • Experience in generating detailed architectural and interface documentation.
  • History of coordinating integration dependencies across multiple delivery teams.
  • Experience working across customer-facing channels, operational platforms, core banking systems, and enterprise data services.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with banking processes like DEX, ADF, ISR, and Service Transition is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Corporate and Retail Foreign Exchange (FX) products would be beneficial.
  • Background understanding of Capital Markets is a plus.
  • Experience with Coconet Multi:Versa or Murex MX.3 systems is advantageous.
